The structural and historical relevance of services in the Uruguayan economy

The project's general objective is to analyze the evolution of the service sector in Uruguay in the long term (1870-2017). It will consider this sector's expansion pattern, contribution to the national economic structure, and the transformations that the activity has undergone since 1870.

The project was financially supported by the I+D program of the Comisión Sectorial de Investigación Científica (CSIC) of Universidad de la Republica. The work team consisted of Carolina Román as coordinator, and researchers Gastón Díaz, Pablo Marmissolle, Maximiliano Presa, Carolina Romero and Henry Willebald.
