LACEA-LAMES 2024
The Latin American Economic Association (LACEA) and the Latin American and Caribbean Chapter of the Econometric Society (LAMES) are pleased to announce that the 2024 meeting will be hosted by the Universidad de la República (Udelar), in Montevideo, Uruguay, on November 14-16, 2024. This is a special year since we are celebrating the 45 years of LAMES and the 300 anniversary of the foundation of Montevideo.
Both the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) and the Latin American Econometric Society (LAMES) are prestigious international organizations of economists that aim to promote the accumulation of knowledge in all sub-disciplines of economics, encouraging and facilitating interaction among researchers in the region, with the ultimate goal of contributing to the formulation of quality policies in Latin America and the Caribbean. The annual meeting of LACEA LAMES 2024 will be held on November 14-16 in Montevideo, at the FCEA headquarters. It is an event of great relevance and impact, where recent research on economic issues in the region is presented and discussed, and is usually attended by around 500 economists.
For Udelar, for FCEA and for the academic community in Economics in Uruguay in general, this congress is a unique opportunity to strengthen ties with the international academic community, which will benefit knowledge, teaching and applied practices in the discipline.
